Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 1/2.This position is in Huntsville, AL and supports the Sentinel program.
What You’ll Get To Do:
Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures.
Read and understand blueprints.
Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
Perform such minor part-fitting operations as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Measure parts with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems
Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor
Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance and team effectiveness.
Record and report existing structural discrepancies found during modification

Job Qualifications:
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Level 1: Must have a High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and 0 years of relevant experience with sheet metal structures, hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, manufacturing electrical and/or systems.
Level 2: Must have a High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and 2 years of relevant experience with sheet metal structures, hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, manufacturing electrical and/or systems.
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Must have knowledge of electronic principles, the ability to wire and assemble circuits and understand the operation of basic test equipment
Prepare and maintain necessary reports and records as required
Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working overhead.
Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
The ability to pass Medical/Respiratory Exam.
The ability to work any work schedule and overtime as needed by the business.
Ability to obtain and maintain Secret DOD clearance in a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.

Experience in fabricating test cables and strain gauge installation
Manufacturing of electrical and wire harness assemblies
Previous experience working closely with Test and Manufacturing engineers
Previous experience working with inventory control and database systems
Experience in lab and/or test equipment design, integration, and build-up
